As a Licensed Psychologist and a Certified Gottman Therapist, Dr. Karen Bridbord specializes in executive coaching for company founders and organizational leaders. She helps company founders and leadership teams build healthy, productive partnerships to facilitate business growth, eliminate obstacles to success, and reach their fullest potential.
Dr. Bridbord has served as an organizational consultant and executive coach since 1999, and she founded her private therapeutic counseling and consulting practice in 2011. During that time, she has counseled hundreds of founders, corporate executives, and industry leaders in building effective workplace relationships and creating positive company cultures where employees can thrive. She has worked with a diverse clientele, including startups, professional services firms, nonprofit organizations, and Fortune 500 companies.
After receiving a B.A. in Clinical Psychology from Tufts University, Dr. Bridbord earned her M.A. in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University, and her PH.D. in Counseling Psychology from SUNY Buffalo (specialization in Workplace Psychology). Following her graduation, she completed a Psychology Doctoral Internship at Duke University.
In addition, Dr. Bridbord completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Psychology at the William Alanson White Institute, which is regarded as one of the world’s leading psychanalytical institutions. Here, she formed her relationship-focused approach to psychanalysis and counseled many successful corporate leaders.
Dr. Bridbord credits her unique, data-based executive counseling style to her intensive training at the renowned Gottman Institute in Seattle, Washington. She studied the counseling philosophy of Dr. John Gottman, who has revolutionized the practice of couples therapy. In her practice, Dr. Bridbord applies the principles of couples relationship counseling in sessions with her executive clientele.
Dr. Bridbord has been published widely in professional journals and is a frequent speaker at corporations and industry associations.
